We look forward to welcoming the LHS Chamber Singers, while they are in town to sing at Carnegie Hall! This is a free concert for the community. Stop by and enjoy great choral music on a Friday afternoon. On their visit with Friends of the Erben Organ, the choristers will also enjoy a tour of the historic 1868 Henry Erben organ at the Basilica.
The LHS Chamber Singers is Logan High School’s premier vocal ensemble, conducted by John M. McClain and Gretchen R. Weber, as the assistant director and collaborative pianist. Hailing from the beautiful Hocking Hills in Southeastern Ohio, the Chamber Singers have been recognized for their outstanding musicianship at local, state, and national levels. The Chamber Singers were selected to be a part of the inaugural Music For All National Choir Festival in Indianapolis, as one of only 13 choirs in the United States, were chosen to perform the opening concert for the Ohio Choral Directors Association Summer Conference of 2019 at Otterbein University, and, most recently, were named the Most Spirited Choir in America by Varsity Brands, for which they appeared on Good Day Columbus in May. In March, they have been invited to join the Capital University Chapel Choir, as well as two other high school choirs, on the stage of Carnegie Hall in New York City, under the direction of Dr. Lynda Hasseler.
